Your ads may be working. But is your campaign?

Most creative measurement judges one ad at a time. By stitching together 9.2 million ads across 115,990 campaigns (and representing $11 billion in media spend), the 2026 State of Creative Observability Report reveals 5 areas of drift across creative, audience, and media decisions.

Together, they expose the misalignment between the content marketers produce, what media budgets fund, and what consumers actually experience.

As campaigns grow, ad-level performance becomes a less reliable proxy for creative effectiveness: The average campaign contains 80 ads, while our highest-spend 10% contain 784. Knowing which ads performed does not reveal how well the portfolio worked together.

The creative portfolio marketers produce is not the one consumers experience: In the average campaign, 5 assets receive 88% of spend, concentrating delivery around a tiny fraction of the work created.

Producing more content does not mean media has what it needs: 86% of Meta campaigns and 91% of YouTube campaigns do not cover the full recommended mix of placements and formats, leaving parts of each platform’s reach untapped.
